Background: I have dedicated my professional career to developing innovative, trauma-informed, and effective evidence-based services to a wide range of families and the providers who work with them. I am devoted to offering training and consultation to a variety of mental health clinicians and child-serving workers so that they may best serve diverse and high-risk populations, including families who are involved in the child welfare system.
I am a Co-Developer of Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE), a brief dyadic evidence-based intervention that addresses mild to moderate behavior problems in children ages one to 10 years. PC-CARE helps to support positive parent-child relationships by teaching effective parenting strategies and teaches children calming and coping techniques. I offer PC-CARE to caregivers and children in a group format.
My background as a treatment developer has also helped me develop my passion for training others. I feel we need evidence-based training models that fit the needs of providers and child-serving workers to serve a diverse range of clients. I strive to provide excellent training experiences for providers and actively work to improve our training offerings.
Education: Master of Science from the University of California, Davis in Child Development.
Certifications: Certified PC-CARE Trainer and Provider.
